Curating Letters for Namjoon..
This year, I have decided to pioneer a cup sleeve event for Namjoon curated for himself. The theme revolves around his music, his art, and his personality.
The cup sleeve design has his latest mixtape track on it and Namjoon on his element - traveling. And the black and white colors represent these two sides of him that fans get to see. The backdrops are from his music video - forever rain. Everything in it is all about him.
It was written in the sleeve "I hope people would get comforted when they listen to my music" a message from Namjoon that resonates in me and a message not just from Namjoon but also from RM of BTS. With that in mind, this cup sleeve theme comes to life.
The photo in the middle is a screen capture from his vlive last March that explains the behind of MOTS: 7 album. The first draft of the cup sleeve involved a different photo however, in the end I personally decided to pick this as it captures Namjoon in his simplest form as a human being and as an artist with that warming smile - that encourages you through life.
The initial photo was a screen capture from one of Jungkook's GCF where he is seen wearing sunglasses - had the same reason why this is initially picked. However, his eyes weren't totally visible so I decided to change it with the help of a friend.
I have refrained from getting photos that involve a fan site and a music show. As the vibe I wanted this cup sleeve to get is Namjoon and the sentiment of his music alone.
The Namjoon photobook is inspired by Mono, scratching RM on it but is still totally visible. All the photos are compilations of his photos from 2013 to present.
Birthdays are a celebration of one's existence, more so, let's celebrate Namjoon's existence that gave way to his music and his music that gave color into his existence, which made ours bearable.
